Messed up boot after installation of desktop
If got a brand new installation of Ubuntu Server (3.16.0.33) and updated it. As I wasn't able to get the desired options in the Unity-interface I tried to install the classical menu in every 3 solutions in this link http://thanhsiang.org/faqing/node/165.
But it didn't work out the way I wanted in eihter. After the last attempt the computer wont even boot into the GUI. Now it just stops after printing "*Starting CUPS printing spooling/server " during bootup in the terminal. Well, now I booted into safemode and tried to update and clean the system for obsolete packages. Now it the process of booting goes unto "SpamAssasin MailFilterDeamon: disabled" How am I to fix this? |
Well, I sort of like solved it now by installing Kubuntu-desktop. Now I'm removing gnome-desktop and then I'll try to get back to Gnome again...
