make imap listen only on ipv4


Is there a way I can make imapd listen on just tcp not tcp6?

here's the relevant entries for imap in inetd.conf

imap2 stream tcp nowait.1000 root /usr/sbin/tcpd /usr/sbin/imapd
imaps stream tcp nowait.1000 root /usr/sbin/tcpd /usr/sbin/imapd


I'm using ubuntu server.

Depends on what IMAP software you use, but I would say turn off IP6 completely, or maybe do an iptables rule and to reject IPV6 packets specifically to your IMAP port.
