Mailscanner Update Problems

I am running MailScanner on RHEL5.1 MailScanner is calling actions for Postfix and ClamAV.

The problem that I am having is that it seems at times according to the log that MailScanner is shutting down to update spamassassin and clamav definitions and then mail isn't processed for fourty five minutes or so. The problem is that I have looked at all of my cron jobs concerning this, shut down the sa-update job for the moment and moved the clamav and other updates to a once-a-day at 4am. Now it is routinely shutting down in the mid afternoon area.

Any assistance on this would be helpful. I haven't been able to figure out why it is shutting down or how to stop it for sure.

thank you
