Hello and Welcome to LinuxQuestions,
It's hard to tell what more you need to do since you provide so little information about how you configured it, if the processes are starting or not, if you encounter any errors or not. So, in order to get more specific answers, be more specific in your questions. Meanwhile, have a look at these sites for help on configuring sendmail/dovecot.

Kind regards,
Eric

Hi,
I've never used sendmail nor dovecot before but in my opinion there should be a script with the program name in /etc/init.d/ so that you can use :
Code:
service sendmail status
to see if it's running. The same applies to Dovecot:
Code:
service dovecot status
Those two commands tell you if your services are up and running. If everything is configured correctly the you should be able to receive mails. Test it by sending a mail to an existing user on your server and then see if it gets delivered. Check log files for eventual errors.
Kind regards,
Eric
