Mail alias not working

Hi ,

I have a sendmail alias configured to forward mails to pagers and it was working fine . The mail relays suddenly start converting a mail address of pager into a normal mail(outlook) format address.

Say , instead of forwarding a mail to zamo@edomain.com , it is routing it to zamo@domain.com ? , Provided no configuration inside the mail directory was changed.

Which file is responsible in converting the mail-addresses? Is there any other problem with my mail-setup?

Thanks

You don't say much about your sendmail setup. In general there are 3 places you should look for aliases:
1. ~/.forward
2. /etc/mail/aliases
3. /etc/mail/virtusertable

Regards

Maybe a DNS change with edomain.com pointing to be domain.com ?

An exercise of imagination

mail aliases are in /etc/mail/aliases . all the aliases are working except the new one. Though the new aliases are exact/similar to all the others am unable to find the exact cause for why it is failing.

Did you update aliases database after creating entry in aliases file.

to update aliases database

Code:
$ sudo newaliases

Thanks to all for your help. I did all the steps above. It seems the problem with outlook configuration and it is fixed.
