Low CPU footprint for sending the dd backup?

Hi,

I have made a distant backup using dd. It is a very large img.gz file. I would like now to move this file to another machine using the ethernet cable.

Since my raspberry is consuming lot of CPU while sending, I would be glad to get an hit what would use less CPU for the server:

- NFS
- SSHFS
- SAMBA
- FTP e.g. proftpd
- Rsync, but anyhow rsync is ssh behind
...

If I do a cp from disk to another disk:
the cpu use is only 3-4 pct which is little compared to 50-60 pct for samba or sshfs.

Thanks

If CPU is the problem, use nice to use only the CPU other processes don't need.
If the network capacity is the bottleneck, use rsync with the --bwlimit

Jaap
maybe is it possible to make SSHfs use only 10% of my CPU? Sounds impossible to controll

I don't think so. But what is the problem when the SSHfs uses all the processor power that is not needed by other processes?

I would desire at max 10% of my cpu, not more. (due to some hardware things, better not to discuss my crap hardware)

I recall that there are some toys for limiting the CPU

Then I'm sorry, I have no idea how to do that.

I remember that it exists similar programs that allow to limit the use of the cpu to a given value. I will try to reemeber the name of the program.
I think ssh cpu use looks high not for very little files. For an image of a disk (dd 4b), then it is higher.
