I just installed Linux server enterprise 11
I mean at first it just went right through where it give you the box to put in your user name and password and it did work but when restart...ask for the log in and password in the root but when i put it in it says incorrect and I know that's the user name and password...
please help
Also same thing for Ubuntu
after put in the user name and password, it work but gets me back to where it says my user name ( jjhotline1creative@ubuntu:~$ ) I don't know what to do now...
sorry I'm new to Linux..trying to learn it...thanks so much

there is no such thing as "Linux server enterprise 11". Do you mean Suse / SLES?? Either way... if you've just installed it and it won't accept the root password, then you are entering it wrong, there's just nowhere for anything else to be happening, save for worserer things like having caps lock on. If you can't get it, at the boot loader stage, edit the kernel line and add a "1" to it. then boot and you'll be dropped in as root automatically. Then use "passwd" to change the password, then reboot.

This means that you successfully logged in and the system is waiting for your commands.
I don't know much about Suse, but since you installed a commercial version you should be able to get support. For some basic commands you should read something like this.
