Loadbalanced web site with users, what about email sending newletters etc

Hello, I wanted to loadbalance one web app which is online shop. But then I have stopped .

If there are two webservers serving same website, how to know which server has sent newsletters so the other dont send it for example?

How it is done generally?

Database is separate server.

Load balancing is generally speaking about sending client requests to servers behind it to, well, balance the load ;-p Sending news letters has nothing to do with load balancing. If two mail server applications need to be able to figure out if the other sent emails then have them share for instance the state file the unnamed application uses to determine it sent emails. If that's not possible then maybe these applications could send email to a central mail gateway for processing instead of sending email directly. Else you probably have to be way more specific about the application, the way it saves state etc, etc.
