Hi,
Try examine the process that uses Ping:

---$ ps -ejH

If it is not necessary to your system then kill it.
But you have to see to it that there is no illegitimate cause of the unwanted Pings.

Hope that helps.

Hi malekmustaq,

Thanks for quick reply. I tried with the command suggested

#ps -ejH |grep ping

No output .I thinks no process attached with ping .

Any more suggestion will be highly helpful .Thanks

Try to issue the command while the unwanted Ping is running. As I understood from the post it is continuously running, am I right?

Hi chrism01,

The above application status are the output of my script.

#/etc/init.d/applications status

#########################################
# Application Status #
#########################################
1.)Cron running
2.)Nx server running
3.)Liferay Running
4.)MySql running
5.)Apache running

##########################################
root@demo:/home/ubuntu#

I am able to fix the problem by deleting a line containing string in /etc/nsswitch.conf file .

The string is "mdns4_minimal" .
