linux server


hi there im new to this and i want to have a linux server on my windows network at home im not sure wat i want its purpose to be yet so its either going to be a file server or im going to use the active directory does anyone know whether it would be worth going ahead with and how would i go about setting it up

My advice would be don't set up a server until you have a use for it. In order to build a system, you should know what you're building it for.
