Linux network installation server

Hi All,

Can anyone please put me into right direction or suggest some internet link for building Linux network installation server. I need to build a server through which i can install CentOS or other flavor of Linux over the network using (NFS/HTTP).

I am using CentOS 5.5.

Thanks in Advance.

have a look at cobbler or foreman.

I believe FOG might work for you as well.

This is a link to some information about a Kickstart Server.

You can also use Spacewalk for such a thing. Which is nice, since you are using Centos -- because this is a RedHat product.

I would *really* not recommend spacewalk from your original message. In terms of deployment the current version of Spacewalk uses cobbler for deployment, so if you do want an installation server, then just use cobbler directly.

Any particular reason to dislike Spacewalk?

It's over complicated for what the op asked for. That's all.
