Linux kernel remote debug
Hi guys,
I'm getting crazy trying to make to work the default CentOS 5.2 kernel on my server. My ISP provides some custom monolitic kernels which work good but they didn't compile in alot of useful stuff and, moreover, I think the EL5 kernels are more secure. I guess the CentOS kernel panics during the boot but I can't figure out what's is missing (maybe a driver?). Is there a way to make some remote debugging on the kernel so that I can compile a custom one? I guess it would be enough just to get a log of what is happening. Thanks, Alessandro. |
what errors are you getting. Most kernel panic errors are due to a missing initrd file. Did you create one?
