Linux goes into an endless cycle

Hi!

My linux (CentOS 5.4) works in console mode (GUI is not installed).
After typing a command

Code:
mysqld_safe --skip-grant-tables
it seems that my linux goes into an endless cycle (I havent seen this:[root@main ~]).

For Ctrl-C nothing happen!
Can you tell me how to exit from this endless cycle?

Thanks

Not sure i understand what you are asking, but first thing to do is use
Code:
Alt + F1
to open a new terminal. Then trouble shoot from there.
Use
Code:
Alt + F[1-7]
to switch between terminals

Is it really going in and infinite loop? Or does the syetm get clunky?

When I enable the MySQL deamon system performance goes down way to much (CPU load 60% or more, alone for SQL).
