Linux as a windows domain controller?

I cant really find a straight answer is it possible to use a linux server as a domain controller for a set of windows 2000/linux machines. Basically we are setting up a lab which consists of one server and about 30 machines which are clents.

That will work just fine. You will loose some functionality, and wont be able to custimize win2k startmenu etc. But it can make a domain, register clients, run logon scripts and so on.
I've only set up a domain controller by modifying smb.conf, but I've been told that swat (Samba web administration tool) can be used to configure a domain controller as well. Good luck :)
