libxml2mod.so Issues

I'm trying to run a command on my RHEL6.6 server, but I'm getting an error related to the libxml2mod.so module that I can't seem to solve.

Code:
[root@server01 ~]# rhnreg_ks
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/sbin/rhnreg_ks", line 32, in <module>
    from up2date_client import rhnreg
  File "/usr/share/rhn/up2date_client/rhnreg.py", line 23, in <module>
    import hardware
  File "/usr/share/rhn/up2date_client/hardware.py", line 33, in <module>
    import dmidecode
  File "/usr/lib64/python2.6/site-packages/dmidecode.py", line 28, in <module>
    import libxml2
  File "/usr/lib64/python2.6/site-packages/libxml2.py", line 1, in <module>
    import libxml2mod
ImportError: /usr/lib64/python2.6/site-packages/libxml2mod.so: symbol xmlNanoHTTPCleanup, version LIBXML2_2.4.30 not defined in file libxml2.so.2 with link time reference
Could someone provide some assistance on how to correct this issue?

Thanks in advance!

Actually I figured out the issue. We use Splunk and apparently one of the installed modules in Splunk was causing a conflict. So I moved the conflicting package to the temp directory while I ran the required command and everything worked properly.

For reference, here is the RH doc I followed:
