label / not fount


Dear
when i boot linux pc getting error:-

ata2: disabling port
mkrootdev: label / not found
mount: error 2 mounting ext3
mount: error 2 mounting none
switchroot: mount failed:22
mount /initrd/dev failed:2
kernel panic - not syncing:Attempted to kill init!

Could we get some more information about this system and what has happened? Being unable to mount the root filesystem could be due to anything from a misconfigured kernel to a damaged drive.

What happened, or what was changed, right before this error started coming up?

Dear,
Actually, once i connected HD into xp pc for recovering data.
after that i put HD into seperate CPU for booting,then i got error:-
label / not found
