kernel error message


Hello Guys,

thanks for your help everytime.

I have an oracle internet directory which when i try to start, i get this error message in /var/log/messages:

kernel: oidldapd[21033] general protection rip:3887413d16 rsp:7fff16006cd0 error:0

Please I will appreciate any help with this.

It's not the kernel, it's the binary called oidldapd. Check oidldapd, not the kernel.

Hello Robert,

thank you very much for the reply. I appreciate it. To be sincere, I have no idea how to go about debugging oidldapd. I don't work with it on a day to day basis.

Please any further info will be helpful.

Seems that oidldapd is some Oracle or Oracle related product and would be best to check Oracle forums/websites. Don't know if you can debug this as it's proprietary and you wont have or find the source code.
