Just wonder what the proper users/groups/permissions should be for a Joomla installation on Ubuntu Server 12.04. After installing Joomla, I have setup the /var/www/joomla folder (and all sub folders) to user: www-data and group: www-data and 777. Obviously I want to be secure about this but I can't find what the proper user(s)/group(s)/permissions should be in order for the Joomla to work correctly (including installing new templates, etc), but not leave anything "wide open". I am new to Joomla and pretty much newbie to Linux servers, so anything too advanced may take a little head-scratching for me

I would be fine even if someone were to just say "read section XXXX of the XXXX book". I am not asking someone to do this for me, or give me the necessary code to do it, I just need pointed in the direction I need to find the information myself. I have read joomla docs and ubuntu docs, but they don't really tell me what i am asking, unless it is just "disguised" to me because I am not experienced enough with this

Im doing an install of Joomla as well and I'll keep you posted on how I think perhaps the settings should be tweaked. Would be nice to get some advice from others on this too.
