Jabber

Hey guys.

our organization is looking to get rid of a live help server/client that we purchased a few years ago. What I am thinking of implementing is a jabber server for internal office communication. In doing this I was thinking of using a live help client that can integrate with jabber keeping everything separate. a user logs in to live help i don't want them to be able to see any of the internal users until a chat request is sent to them, at witch point they will only see that one user. I also want users of our sales team to be the only people who see the live help users.

haha i suck at explaining things. I see it in my mind but it doesn't properly filter from my head to my key board. if that was to hard to follow, what i want is:

User logs in to website clicks live help link---users in sales dept get a toast or sometime of notification--sales team member accepts the user for chat--end user Jabber client (pandion) talks to web server (java script chat script)and vice versa----

keeping this web based "chat room" as more of an IM based chat where only one user and one client can speak at a time. I looked at openfire with fastpath and did not like it one bit. any one else have a suggestion to do this?

Edit: I didn't read your whole post, I just got to the part that says "not Openfire / Fastpath" , sorry.
