Issue during VMWare Installation???
I installed ubuntu 7.10 and tried to intsall Vmware.It threw the error:

I'm a newbie but in this problem you have to type this command in the terminal, first log in as root, yum install gcc gdb yum install gcc-c++ just try it.......... |
yum is yellow dog update manager and is generally for redhat style distros.
As you are using Ubuntu try: sudo apt-get install libc6-dev sudo apt-get install gcc sudo apt-get install g++ sudo apt-get install dpkg-dev Then retry the vmware install |
Have a look at my new most recent thread....I tried to do installation through Fiesty thsi time as It just need some source.list update....I put it in another new thread...
The command in the above post dint worked...I need update and that too not working...Can anyone send me updated sources.list from where I can proceed??? |

I got it done.I first added the #apt get-cdrom and then runthe update command for build -essential..It finally worked..Anyway Thanks to you people.
