IP to website name ubunto 10


sorry if this is not the right place to post this.
i just got a DNS linked to my nameserver an IP of my remote VPS
the website works if i enter the IP address in my broswer but not the name www.woodland3.com i replaced the default html file and added in my site from there (lazy i know) but its the DNS thing i said above i cant get working, some advise would be nice. and ummm think stupid when giveing advice, so ill get it.
fyi i did the default index.html replacement becouse i dont know how to do it any outher way XD
what files in aphine2 do i edit?
im useing ubunto 10 server, apanchie 2.

If the domain name is not resolving to the proper IP, it's not a problem on the server. How long ago did you make the changes to the DNS records? It can take up to 24 hours for the changes to propagate.

oh it does i did not know that i thought it was an instant thing ill wait till tomarrow after noon and see if it working then

Contact the registrar from your domain or the people who configure the DNS from your domain.

Did you configured the DNS yourself?
There is no DNS entry for your domain
