Installing Postgresql9.1 at startup (moved to software)
I am trying to install linux using a ks.cfg that sets up an environment that I then install Postgresql onto. I have successfully gotten the ks.cfg to work and I have successfully gotten the Postgres script to run, but for some reason the Postgres script will not run unless you are after the login screen. If I try to run it using an init.d file it fails.
I am using Postgresql-9.1.9-1-linux-amd64.run with a version of Scientific Linux 64bit.
The short and sweet of what I am doing is as follows:
/<location of file>/postgresql-9.1.9-1-linux-amd64.run --mode unattended --prefix /<location where the files are to be stored> --superpassword <password> --datadir /<location where the data files are to be stored>
(no i do not have the <> parts... they are filled with appropriate information but that shouldn't matter.)
As I have stated before I can use this after the login but not through an init.d script.
Please help!!
Moved to software.
