Check your SELinux settings. I did test it very quickly once, installed via yum and it worked. I used remi repo. I like it better than fedora epel.

Get the zipped file from website and read the documentation.

http://www.phpmyadmin.net/localized_...mentation.html

But first try
Quote:
nano /etc/httpd/conf.d/phpmyadmin.conf
Change lines to
Quote:
#Order Allow,Deny
#Deny from all
Allow from 127.0.0.1
Quote:
service httpd restart

im using rhel6
use yum
Code:
su -
yum install phpmyadmin
and the rpm will be garbed and any dependencies needed
the rpm will set any SELinux permissions needed

Quote:
i had configured epel and remi repos
this IS RHEL so did you install and CONFIGURE "protectbase" !!!!!!!
that is Critical for running RHEL with third party repos
Quote:
it says some dependencies failed.
i guess not
install protectbase for "yum" and configure it
the instructions are in the red hat knowledge base
https://access.redhat.com/knowledge/search

now you could install from the phpMyAdmin web site
but then why are you using RHEL6

it would be WAY easier to support CentOS6 or ScientificLinux6 or even ClearOS6
than rhel if you are NOT going to use RHN
