Install FFmpeg
 

how to install ffmpeg on apache server. i am planning to start a video site and i was told that ffmpeg needed. i found a site telling me that ffmpeg can be installed with just yum but it is not working for me.

should i have to compile the source or it can be done with yum?

What distro are you using?

I installed it from source on CentOS, and it really isn't too difficult

That said, rpmforge has the rpms in its repo

i use centos 4.6. when i do install using yum, it says missing dependency error.

What is the exact error you are getting?
