ICONs Missing in Explorer after NAS installation

After installing NAS using OpenMediaVault - (OMV-4x on RaspberryPi with a 1T portable drive) - networked to multiple Linux Mint 19 hosts, I have lost ICONs on all files retrieved from NAS in my hosts Explorer. All files - Documents, Music and Pictures - are stored and retrieved correctly, but the ICONs in Explorer are missing. If I drag these files to the Desktop the ICONs are correct. The text identifying the files are correct. I need help in trouble shooting this problem. Thanks - carl

I fear that I am demonstrating my 'beginner status' with my problems - and by not describing my problem better. I understand how ICONs can be changed by changing themes. However, my real problem is with the 'thumb-nails' used for graphic files - the likes of JPEGs - PNGs - TIFFs, etc., where I expect to see a small version of the file in the explorer screen.

It is the 'thumbnails' that I am missing (img-1) when using the system explorer to look at my graphic files stored on my NAS. Image-2 shows the 'thumbnails' that I expect to see. Thanks so much for your time. carl

look in your filemanager's preferences, there might be a setting to generate thumbnails only for local files.
it is also possible that this is a default setting that cannot easily be changed.
this is on purpose because for each thumbnail your machine has to read the complete image file - over a potentially much slower network connection.
since i do not use mint or its filemanager i don't know if this setting is adjustable.
i suggest searches on mint forums or askubuntu.com.

ps: a small niggle: i already saw your OP earlier and was slightly confused why you capitalised "ICONs". i wasn't 100% sure whether you actually meant icons.
and while i'm at it i just might add: keep in mind that Linux is case sensitive!
