hm. I think it has a very good official documentation. I would say you can hardly find better here in a post.
Remember, we cannot install and configure it for you, but can help you if you are stuck.

If you want to make your (Samba/DC) life easy, try Zentyal. It's based on Ubuntu.
I tried it in a VM. Works like a charm and out of the box. Includes (open source) DC, firewall, nameserver, dhcp server, NAS, mailserver (with webmail)...
All configured from a webinterface.
More then complete SOHO server. The free (community) version is called "development edition": https://zentyal.com/community/

Why are you using 6.10? It went end of life in 2017 and will stop getting updates in November this year. Even using it as a proof of concept is not good since you are limited to old software versions.
As stated, it would be best to use a distro that comes preconfigured for this. Trying to manually configure Samba can be a pain for the unfamiliar.

that is another issue, would be better to open a new thread. Furthermore you can easily find an answer by putting that error message into a search engine, like this: https://askubuntu.com/questions/9664...buntu-16-04lts
Additionally if you wish to get better help you need to post not only an error message but some more information: http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-...html#beprecise

Question: Are you setting up a new domain, or trying to add this new controller to an existing domain?
The official SAMBA documentation is your best resource, but what PART of that documentation depends a bit on the answer.

And: your OS version of obsolete: you would be better served by using something in current support. Is there a constraint here you have not mentioned?

And: CentOS/RHEL generally support older and more stable versions of applications (SAMBA). If you need the latest, you need an OS with the latest (or at least later) Application versions supported and in the repositories. Again, if you have a constraint you need to let us know.

I am trying to install the ad dc on an Ubuntu 18 LTS LXC container. It is a new domain. I have been trying to search it online for a few days now to no avail

# samba-tool domain provision --server-role=dc --use-rfc2307 --dns-backend=BIND9_DLZ --realm=CHUKA.AC.KE --domain=CHUKA --adminpass=

Error: can not dump core files; core path not specified

I have kerberos realm too

Probably you missed, that is not an answer for you, but reply to the original issue.
Again, you need to open your own thread instead of hiding another one.
