I think I need rsync or scp -- something to copy from http://... to /somewhere/else

Hi

What shell command can I use to get my unix box to download a file and put it in a specific directory? I'm using my OS box as a torrent server. I am about to go to Afghanistan and I will be able to SSH into my box. I already have a directory set up that Transmission is looking for. It automatically adds the torrents when a file is copied to that directory.

I am looking for a command that would copy a file from http: to /tank/...

Or at least a download command then I could cp from local to local. Or set up my current torrent directory as the default folder that files are downloaded to. Anyone mind giving me a hand? I'm looking through my OS Bible and Unix bible but I cant seem to find what I'm looking for. I have mildly scoured the internet as well.

Nithra,

I have pruned your post off of the thread you hijacked, and gave it its own thread. Please do not do that again.

Also: this is not the first time a moderator has removed the advertising link from your post or signature, and you have already been warned more than once. DO NOT PUT THAT LINK IN YOUR FUTURE POSTS unless you want your LQ privileges suspended. If you want to advertise a legitimate service or business on LQ, see the appropriate links at the bottom of the LQ page, or contact jeremy at linuxquestions.org and inquire about advertising.

nithra,

You've done it again, twice:

Every post but your 1st contained the same commercial link.
