HTTPD dead but subsys locked


Hi
im facing out problem httpd status dead .Even http service getting startup without any problem

error log im getting out these error
[notice] suEXEC mechanism enabled (wrapper: /usr/sbin/suexec)
[notice] Digest: generating secret for digest authentication ...

I tried following things but still problem persists

killall -9 httpd
commented the following line httpd.conf file
LoadModule auth_digest_module libexec/apache22/mod_auth_digest.so but still problem persists .

Take a look in /var/run

and see if you see a httpd.pid file

I am wondering if the service is dying but leaving the httpd.pid file behind?
