how to start pop3 service

i cant fetchmail form server might b because of pop service is not enabled or configured.
tell me how to start pop services and from where i configure it

whrn i restart service it gives error

service dovecot start
Starting Dovecot Imap: Fatal: listen(143) failed: Address already in use

what should i do now

it seems that port 143 is being used by another service. Can we see your netstat -tulpn output here?

iam using qmail and qmail has its own pop3 and imap is using as tcpserver this port
