i want to prune ubuntu(12.04LTS) for special use. the only app that run on is firefox. and i want to remove anything i don't need. thanks for any advice.

You configure it to run in kiosk mode, where all it WILL run is Firefox, and nothing else. 'Pruning' things off is not only time-consuming but dangerous, since you can easily break things you don't mean to. http://askubuntu.com/questions/13226...-in-kiosk-mode
