I'm useing RHEL 6.1 server, yesterday I've got a mail from client end based server, He added some space (storage) one of my server and ask me to mount disk before configured.
the mail is:
today the sotorage for the DWH server was installed.
It is an IBM DS3500, with 12 hd SAS, of 600 Gb.
The storage has two units connected by fiber cables to ports Ethernet 3 and 4 of the hba in DWH server, (from controller 1 and 2, of the storage).
(One of the cables are connected, we asked for the other)
PN: ***
SN: ***
Here I've checked under the fdisk -l command & dmesage log file no any disk is showing. also I've checked multipath -l command is not installed in that server. so can I install it ?
again He ask with me -
you have to configure the storage before mount it.
You will found procedures in IBM web site, please use the model number and SN described below to download the documents.

So please let me know how can I configure it.
Please suggest on urgently.
As you've been told before, this is a volunteer fourm; asking for/expecting 'urgent' help is fairly rude.
And since you need 'urgent' help, did you do what was suggested? Like going to the IBM website and reading the directions???? There's nothing magic about it; unless you configure the disk on the server first, you won't be able to format/partition/mount it. You're using an IBM server with Red Hat Enterprise...a well supported configuration. Since you need 'urgent' support, you can call both IBM and Red Hat.
how could i configure it on my server. please suggest if have any document/command. because i didn't see extra added storage in to OS
Did you not read or understand what you've been told? YOU need to go to the IBM website, enter the model #'s, and LOOK UP the procedures yourself. We are not going to go look things up for you. We will be happy to help with PROBLEMS, but you have to show some effort of your own.
As you were told by your client, the documents are on the IBM website...go get them, read them, and follow them. And again, since you're using RHEL and an IBM server, you are paying for support from BOTH of them. Contact IBM for help getting things configured.
