How to join a server with Centos 5.2 to a Windows 2008 domain?

Hi guys, this has been wrecking my head for a while now. I'm a newbie and I'm trying to get our squid proxy server (centos 5.2) joined to our domain but not having any luck even after following MANY guides and how-to's (a lot of them from this site even!). Can someone help solve this problem?

Unless you would like more pointers to suggested guides, we will require more information than not able to join to the domain. Specifically, what steps did you take, what was the result, and what if any error messages are you receiving?

Well, my head is currently overloaded because I've followed so many how-to's and did so many things, but what I did is run the command net "ads join -U administrator" and the error I got was "Failed to join domain: Operations error". If I try wbinfo -u I get "Error looking up domain users" and yet if I try "kinit user" I get the prompt "Password for user@domain.com" and entering the pass seems to go through.

Basically, what I'm trying to do is get our squid proxy server to return domain usernames when I tail the access.log or use SARG for reports instead of ip addresses. So I read somewhere that to do this you have to add the squid server to windows domain.
