how to install RHEL5 Desktop from FTP server
i know how to remote install the OS from NFS/FTP/HTTP
i normally install CENT OS from a DVD and copy all the contents of the DVD in one place and while installing i giv the path of the folder where the DVD is copied.

now i have 6 CDs of RHEL5 Desktop which i need to remote install. in this case should i manually copy all the contents of the CD to one folder and sub-divide it into each disk?

Or should everything be in one folder and i should take care abt the contents of the Client, VT and Workstation folder?

plz help.
hope you understand my issue.

I think one folder, keeping all sub folders intact.

You need to Edit the .discinfo file, replacing the fourth line with 1,2,3,4,5
if you are creating an image with all five discs or with 1,2,3 if you are just using the three install discs

Actually, the RedHat installer has been able to mount ISO images itself for a while now. You should be able to just throw the images in an nfs share, point the installer to them and away you go. This is nice because you don't have to have the space to store the iso's and the files.
