I have created a filesystem /data using software RAID-1 concept using two disks.
/dev/sdb - 50 GB
/dev/sdc - 50 GB

now i have to increase the /data to 100GB by adding two more disk.
/dev/sdd - 50GB
/dev/sde - 50GB

is this possible, if yes
could you please guide me how exactly i can increase the existing RAID-1 array from 50GB to 100GB.

I assume you intend to set these drives up in a nested RAID 0+1 array. You'll probably want to set up the two new drives in RAID 0 and copy the existing data onto that array. Then you'd set up the old drives in RAID 0 and duplicate the data on the new drives onto the old drives (so each RAID 0 array is identical). Finally, I guess you'd set up a RAID 1 array and add the RAID 0 arrays to it.

Unfortunately, I don't know as much about RAID setups and mdadm as I'd like to, so I can't give you anything more specific than that and I may be wrong somewhere. But hopefully that might point you in the right direction.
