How to delay Exim Send Mail

I am having a problem with email getting "lost" and it appears to be related to multiple emails being sent at the same time to the same address. The process is scripted so anywhere from 2 to 15 emails can be sent to a single email address at the same time.

Is it possible to add a delay to Exim so it will only, for example, process and send an email every 2 seconds instead of instantly.

Thanks for any help!

Am sure the mails are not lost because of being sent at the same time, as exim is capable of handling hundreds of messages at the same time.

But if you think it will help you can configure exim to just queue messages and then run the queue manually.
