How to copy and paste between VM and host
 

Hi all,

host ubuntu 14.04 desktop
VM ubuntu 14.04 server
Oracle Virtualbox

I have gpm installed on the server. I can highlight the text with mouse point but I couldn't copy the highlight text nor paste it on host.

please help. Thanks

Thanks for your link.

I have VirtualboxGuestAddition installed and rebooted VM. Also set bidirectional on Settings

On VM console highlighting the text
-> Ctrl+c
it pasted the text immediately on console

On Host editor
-> Ctrl+v
nothing happened.

$ ls $HOME/.VirtualBox/Machines
$ sudo find VirtualBoxThis is server version. I don't have copy-n-paste problem on desktop!

I haven't that done that much with VM's so I don't know that much about them. If you don't get an answer here, check to see if someone can help over at the VirtualBox forums. :)

That's StackExchange's Superuser, not the VirtualBox forums. I don't know if it would make a difference but it might be worth a shot. ;)

BTW, the suggestion that has 21 "thumbs up" didn't work?
