How to automount a windows fileserver to RHEL 5.3 clients using ldap authentication?

We have a new closed network which has both windows and linux client computers. The linux clients are running RHEL 5.3 64 bit, and are connected to a windows fileserver running windows server 2003. The domain controller is using ldap authentication. Right now we are having issues with multiple logins (login to redhat machine, then login to connect to server) and we would like to automate this process, so that users only need to login once per machine, can be logged into multiple machines if need be, don't need to separately login to the windows share server, and don't get timed out of the windows server.

Can anyone tell me which settings in which files need to be changed to make this work on the linux side? And if you know if anything special needs to happen on the windows configuration side that would help too. Please be very explicit with steps here, assume I can read and follow directions but am otherwise clueless. If there are separate samba configuration steps please include those too. Thank you.
