how to assign user name and password for reposetory in svn


Hi
this is ashraf
i have set up svn server on fedora 8 i have create reposetory
i am able to do checkout from cleint also
i am also able the make changes in local file from cleint and add that file to svn i am also able to commint it

now i can also check the changes from server
i am able to every thing with the file in my lan

now i want set user name and password the that file or the directory where the file is

i tryed a lot of stuff but did not worked
hepl me::::::::::::::

Hi,

What did you try?

Take a look here: Version Control with subversion, especially the chapter about server configuration (chapter 6).

There are a few ways to set up authentication/authorization: I choose for apache/ldap/svn.

Without knowing what you tried (and what worked/failed) it will be a bit hard to help you.

Google (or any other searchengine) can help as well, feed it with the following: svn authorization authentication

BTW: I'm assuming you use svn 1.5.
