How to analysis IBM DSA logs?

Hi everybody,

I Have RHEL4 running on IBM X3550 server, we request IBM support regarding issues with this server, they will request for IBM DSA logs. The logs are quite extensive and cover almost all server config & can identify hardware issues with drivers...etc.

I want to know if there is a way to analysis those logs offline without sending them to IBM support?

Hi,

as an easy answer: No.

IBM requires the logs to determine the solution for your problem. Without them they will decline further support for this case.

If you have any kind of data privacy protection issue with this data, you can ask IBM if they will sign a NDA or something else.

Thanks for your reply, the privacy wasn't the concern but I was thinking of analysis those logs myself once the server is out of warranty but I guess this will remain an IBM secret

Hi,

i agree some of the information in the DSA log is only usable for IBM, and i think they will not provide the information for this information.

Convert XML output from DSA logs into HTML

8 years old threads probably don't need answering - especially Windows only references.
