How do I stream the webcam capture through a network on redhat

I have a computer downstairs with redhat (CentOS 6) installed on it and I want to be able to use a webcam attached to it in order to see what it sees. The camera also has a microphone attached to it so if it's possible to get that to work then I would appreciate it. All of the guides on how to stream a webcam feed over the internet via http (or some other protocol) all seem to be written for Ubuntu and Debian. I have a redhat machine and I can't find a guide about how to get it working on it. I have apache installed already I just need to know how I can transport the webcams captured images through the network.

What software were you looking at? You could probably view it from a remote SSH session with X forwarding using that application. But even if the tutorial was written for Ubuntu or Debian, I don't see why you couldn't use it on CentOS.
