how do i create a username and a password for squirrelmail?


Hi,

I just installed squirrelmail but in the config it doesnt say anything about creating a username and a password to login. Does anyone know how to create a username and password?

What system did you install it on? Try logging in with your unix usermame and password. ie.; if your servers dns name is localhost.localdomain for example, try logging in as postmaster@localhost.localdomain or postmaster@localhost or if a true domain postmaster@somedomain.com. When you setup a unix user the system creates a postmaster account by default.

If these do not work try postmaster@ipaddress

none of those worked, so i tried with my fedora username and password then i got this:

ERROR: Connection dropped by IMAP server.
Query: CAPABILITY

any idea why?

I fixed it now it works All I had to do was add a Maildir to the users home.
