Question How can i setup squid


Dear all,

what is the command for installing squid?
Which distribution is needed? linux server?
Please some1 guide me step-by-step

Hello,

Have a look at the following sites. Don't expect LQ users to provide a step-by-step guide, you'll not get a lot of replies that way. Instead you should do some searching on Google (which turned up the ones below), try them out and come to LQ with the problems/questions that arise when following one of them.

Seems you never used Linux before. Why do you want squid?
1. Squid can be installed like any other package on linux. It is its configuration that needs change as per your requirements.
2. Any Linux distribution will do.
3. All linux distributions are capable as servers for a desktop user. Server distributions only have stable and tested to work packages and are optimized for the hardware it is installeI.
