I have an NFS\NIS server that doesn't want to automount for some reason.
This is a server rebuild and all of the settings have been transfered from the previous server. I must have missed something, but I can't figure out what it could be.
I'm fairly new at NFS so bare with me.
On the NFS server:
[root]showmount -a
mount clntudp_create: RPC: Port mapper failure - RPC: Unable to receive
so I checked the /var/log/messages:
Jun 29 13:55:47 server automount[10857]: failed to mount /nfs/server1
Jun 29 13:55:56 server automount[11200]: lookup(program): lookup for server1 failedI found something that fixed the second line of the error:
Jun 29 13:55:56 server automount[11200]: lookup(program): lookup for server1 failed
I found something that fixed the second error. For some reason my auto.nfs had execute permissions. The auto.nfs has executable permissions on my old server and it doesn't seem to genereate this message. Still, I removed those, but it still fails to mount.
