help with email logs - please

Hi,

I run a server with FC 4 on with Postfix. Each night i get a logwatch report which has some stats on the emails that are sent.

I have a really simple question but don't seem to be able to find the answer.

Every day it states that I send about 39 emails and 39 emails are removed from the queue.

--------------------- postfix Begin ------------------------

437542 bytes transferred
39 messages sent
39 messages removed from queue

Foreign Bounce: 17, 25 Time(s)
.....

BUT I have included a "always_bcc = mypersonalemailaddress" so that I get a copy of the emails so I can see what is going on. But I only receive about 1 or 2 emails a day.

Can someone please help me. I just want to know where the rest of these emails go and what they are?

Many thanks in advance

Dan

Normally (on my Debian system anyway) there is a full log of all transactions in /var/log/mail.info.

Afraid i'm on a Fedora. I've been looking through the postfix logs but still can't understand the difference between "sent" and "removed from queue". For example today my logs says :

156 messages sent
22 messages removed from queue

Does that mean that I have a ton of emails in a queue somewhere or are they unrelated?

Cheers

Dan

Have you been into /var/log yet? There will be a log file relating to mail (I understand that it is filed in /var/log/mailog in Fedora). Go through the log and it will tell you what and where mail has been sent.
