Help me with Nagios

Hi There,

Does Nagios have ability to restart any failed process?

Hello,

AFAIK no, Nagios doesn't have this possibility since it's 'only' a monitoring software. It alerts you when something is wrong but doesn't automatically take action apart from sending out notification messages. If you want to automatically restart processes you'll need to set that up on the remote servers you're monitoring or write your own scripts that take action upon a certain exit status from Nagios plugins. I might be wrong though, but never heard of Nagios having this option build in.

Kind regards,

Eric

Hi,

You're right to mention eventhandler. But it's not standard included in Nagios and as you pointed out must be scripted by the user. That's why I mentioned

Should have mentioned the above in combination with eventhandlers. Thanks for pointing it out.

Kind regards,

Eric
