Post your query only in one forum. Double posting will not lead to more help.
And post more information about what you are trying to do. There is not much information about it.

Most source code installs require/provide a configure.
The typical src install is:

untar the source-tarball
from new source directory:

./configure --prefix=/usr && make && sudo make install

The ./configure will scan your system for all of the dependencies (including libraries that contain sqrt) and setup the Makefile accordingly.

Could you post a link to the source-tarball and the package you are trying to build?

I think its best to give an indication of the server type in the title of the post, so that experts in that type of server can easily and quickly pick it and offer help. Its no use if a titlee is like "PLIZ HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

PLIZ READ POSTING GUIDLINES FOR NEW USERS OR MY BLOG POST WHICH CAN BE FOUND AT THIS LINK: http://www.linuxquestions.org/blog/c...eal-help-1938/

YOU SEE HOW ANNOYING IT IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most of the distributions will have server packages either included or either available in the repositories. What do you want to do? If you are keen on trying out some linux distribution then I would personally recommend Ubuntu, Fedora or OpenSuse. These all have good repositories. And you might want to get more familiar with your operating system before you jump on to configuring your server.
