Question Help Me

Hi,

I am new in this forum.

I have a query:

My server is running on rhel-4 and goes down frequently due to so many open files, actually it crosses the limit.
I am using the following commands:

$watch -n 900 cat /proc/sys/fs/files-nr but any one help me to find a script to monitor the server on regulat interval as I have limited knowledge in shell-script.

Thanks-

This may be overkill. A fedora version is available, so I would think RHEL could handle it.

You should also change the subject header, so that people familiar with your problem will see you need help as they scan through the thread subjects
