Heartbeat / Pacemaker failover when process dies

I have Heartbeat working on a pair of servers that fails over if the box itself goes down or the IP stops responding.

What I would like is to have it also fail over if the LSB process dies for whatever reason - bring up the IP, then start the service in that order.

I'd prefer to have it working with the older Heartbeat v1 format as that is *way simpler* to manage and configure, but if I'm forced to use v2 (ie. Pacemaker) so be it.

None of the tutorials out there have been particularly helpful with explaining how to set up via crm. Help!
