Question Hang on installing package

Dear all,

One of my servers upgrade from 5.3 to 5.8 recently. After upgrading with yum, I would like to install the HP PSP (version 9.3). However it always hangs on middle, I find it hangs on calling the "weak-modules --add-modules" command. Would anyone give some hints what's problem and I would like to know if there are any further logs to trace with the problem.

I have another same model server can upgrade kernel and install PSP successfully.

5.8 WHAT ??????
if it is CentOS 5.8
then there is nothing to update it is a dead version
yum will NOT work on 5.8 - the repos no longer exist , they were moved to the historical archive "The Vault"
and ONLY CentOS 5.9 in the older 5 series is supported

if RHEL 5.8
contact redhat , you are paying them a LOT of cash to lock is BACK at 5.8 and not use 5.9

5.8 means Redhat. 5.8 is a must due to other software compatibility.
