GUI VNC on Centos 5.5 vps?
I have a VPS running CentOS 5.5 with 128 MB RAM and 256 MB burst.
Now I want to run an app on this VPS which is only processor intensive, hardly uses any RAM. The application is BOINC, and my VPS provider has approved me of running it, regarded I change a few settings. I know that it is possible to run it using cli, but I dont wanna do that. So I want to connect to the VPS using VNC and set up BOINC and control it using a GUI. I do not know what I should install, which VNC server, which GUI(window manager, desktop environment, I dont know what to do here). I should just be able to use boinc-manager while using the least possible amount of RAM. What do I install? And how? Someone please helP! |
I can tell you that any GUI especially GNOME with VNC would just eat away those resources incredibly. With those specs I suggest staying with teh CLI only.

I'm also shocked that they approved a peice of folding software that is just going to eat resources all day. That is the design of BOINC, use your resources to cure cancer..
